Ask an Author: What book would you give to trick-or-treaters, and why? PART TWO

In this second installment of “Ask an Author: Halloween edition,” check out what books Brad Thor, Caroline Kepnes, and Hannah McKinnon would hand out to trick-or-treaters. And be sure to come back tomorrow for part three!

Brad Thor: THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW – One of my all-time favorites.  I have been fascinated by this classic tale ever since I was a little boy.  I still enjoy reading it every year when the leaves begin to fall and the Halloween decorations start going up

Caroline Kepnes: The Twits by Roald Dahl. Because the greatest part of Halloween is the moment before that door opens, when those people inside might just be The Twits.

YOU-and-Hidden-Bodies

Hannah McKinnon: Room on the Broom! My girls and I snuggle under the comforter on chilly October nights and howl with laughter at this funny rhyming story about a witch whose broom takes on quite the menagerie of animal friends one windy night. The word choice is witty, and the pace and rhyme read like a song. And the illustrations- oh my! Perfect for little ones, or even older ones, to bring back our own storybook Halloween memories!
